Time to get going!

I am writing this update as we sit waiting to have White Rose put on a trailer before she is unceremoniously sledged (Nothing to do with Aussie cricket!) back into the water tomorrow, the 27th of March.
'At last she is ready to go'

We returned to her only a week or so ago and have been working continuously to get her ready. We’ve refurbished the decks, dealt with a leaky water tank and started sorting out much of the clutter that we have accrued over the years aboard her.
Our plans remain unchanged in that we set sail as planned from Greece and are heading for Marseille in France. From there White Rose will be transported by road back to the UK and sadly put up for sale. She has been incredibly well behaved over the years and seen us through many difficult times so we will miss her.
In the background we have also returned to the UK, completely redecorated our home and put that up for sale as well!
As we said in our last update 2018 looks like being an eventful year. Not sure what else there is in store for us or what hand fate may play in it all but - “Full Steam Ahead”
Hope everyone is OK and still enjoying life.
Stay in touch…….

Whilst we were in Spain, we had the official re-naming ceremony of our new catamaran, ‘Plan B’. David, Rachel and Harper joined us for a few days and that was an excellent excuse to crack open a bottle of bubbly! It was lovely to have them on board and we all enjoyed some early sunshine.
'Any excuse for a drink! The renaming ceremony with David, Rachel and Harper'

As they left, we flew to Denmark to visit our sailing friends Ole and Anne-Grete. It was lovely to see them in their country and we thoroughly enjoyed both Copenhagen and Aarhus. They were brilliant hosts and city tour guides. I can now say that I have seen the original mermaid (we have one on Folkestone beach too!).
The ‘beast from the east’ found us in Folkestone and we even had snow on the beach. It was really cold for us with black ice as well, so it must have been even worse in Denmark!! Lucky we left when we did!

After 2 weeks of decorating the flat, I had thought it would be nice to get back to White Rose but we have worked really hard here too. I’m looking forward to getting back on the water but we have a long journey ahead so it definitely won’t be a pleasure cruise!

'Time for a quick cuddle with Gwannie'

'Boys will be boys'

'Tired out in Denmark with Anne-Grete and Ole'

'Anchors away....'

' Anyone for Danish bacon?'

'Snow in the South East of England - a rare sight'

'Taking a well-earned rest'

Meet the new deck-hand - every year it's the same problem!'
